Australia on Tuesday handed England a humiliating defeat by an innings and 14 runs as the hosts were relentless and aggressive with their bowling execution.
Debutant Scott Boland, who is the local player of Melbourne, scripted remarkable figures of six wickets for seven runs. England were bundled up for 68 inside the first session as Australia clinched the series 3-0 to retain the Ashes.
Joe Root was England’s top-scorer with 28 and despite him staying firm on the crease, the wickets kept tumbling from the other end. Mitchell Starc (3/29) played a great hand to Boland in routing England for another misery total.

The victory lifts Australia to the top of the World Test Championship points table with three wins in a row and gained 36 points so far.
Australia displaced Sri Lanka at the top position after the latter won the two-Test series against West Indies earlier this month.
England find themselves in a tough situation
England are languishing at seventh place after losing four matches in trot and have already been docked with 10 points due to slow over-rate.
Pakistan, who level on points with Australia, are sitting in third place with their latest 2-0 triumph against neighbours Bangladesh in their own backyard.
Reigning champions New Zealand are yet to register a win in the new cycle of WTC 2021-23 after they lost 0-1 to India. India are currently playing South Africa away in the first of the three-Test matches.
Australia will play against England in the fourth Test match at the Sydney Cricket Ground, starting on January 5.
New Zealand defeated India by eight wickets in June this year in Southampton to emerge as the inaugural winners of the World Test Championship.
