Bowlers Who Have Dismissed David Warner The Most Times In Tests

David Warner has had a great Ashes 2021-22 series thus far. He hasn’t had an outstanding outing so far but it hasn’t been a forgettable one either. David Warner, in fact, has scored the most runs in Ashes 2021-22 thus far. In 4 matches, he has managed to score 270 runs at an average of 54.00.

The southpaw is yet to score a century in the series but has two 90+ scores to his name. Australia batted first in the ongoing fourth Test and David Warner got the team off to a decent start as he shared a 50-run stand with Marcus Harris for the opening wicket.

Warner scored 30 runs off 72 balls and looked set to play a big knock on Thursday. However, veteran English fast bowler, Stuart Broad accounted for his wicket in the 21st over to end his stay at the crease.

Well, it’s not the first time when Stuart Broad has got Warner out in Test Cricket. Warner has often shown the miserable side of his while facing Broad in the Ashes Test series over the years.

The English fast bowler has managed to pick David Warner’s wicket on 13 occasions in Test Cricket. In the ongoing Test match, Broad took the wicket for Warner for the 13th time in his Test Cricket career.

Stuart Broad made Warner’s life difficult in 2019 Ashes series in England. Out of 10 times that he batted during the series, Broad took Warner’s wicket on 7 occasions. Warner didn’t look comfortable against the English seamer and, tend to struggle against him throughout the series. He had a forgettable series with the bat, having managed only 95 runs in 5 innings at an average of 9.50.

Broad’s ally, James Anderson too has a successful record against Warner in Test Cricket. Anderson has troubled him on many occasions and got his wicket 10 times in Test Cricket. The battle between James Anderson and David Warner commenced back in 2013.

In the first 12 matches between the two, James Anderson got him out on 7 occasions. In the third Test of the ongoing Ashes 2021-22 series, Broad got Warner out on 38 off 42 for the 10th time in his international cricket career, which is the second-most by any bowler in the longest format of the game.

On the third day of the pink-ball Test between India and Australia in the Border-Gavaskar Series 2020-21, Ravichandran Ashwin accounted for David Warner’s wicket for the 10th time in his Test Cricket Career.

Among all the batsmen that Ashwin has dismissed the most times in Test Cricket, David Warner is at the top of the list. Ashwin has dismissed Warner 10 times in Test Cricket. Alastair Cook comes second on the list, having got out on 9 occasions.

Umesh Yadav has managed to trouble Warner on many occasions, especially at home. He has picked David Warner’s wicket 6 times in Test Cricket, which is the fourth-most by any player. In his Test Cricket career, he has 156 wickets in 51 Tests at an average of 30.6.

Besides, he has picked a lot of wickets with his reverse swing and has also made a significant impact while playing against Australia. Neil Wagner has managed to dismiss David Warner 5 times in Test Cricket.
