Indian pacer Deepak Chahar was forced to leave the field in the third and final T20I in Kolkata. India posted a total of 184/5 batting first with Suryakumar Yadav and Venkatesh Iyer adding a 91 run stand to get to that score. West Indies are now chasing 185 to win the final T20I.

Meanwhile, India were dealt with a huge blow in the very beginning of their defence. Their premier bowler Deepak Chahar had to leave the field after he pulled up his hamstring while bowling the final delivery of the third over.

He pulled up at his delivery stride as he clutched his hamstring and winced in pain. The Indian physio was seen to run onto the field to assist the pacer. After the initial treatment, he was taken out of the ground for further treatment. Venkatesh Iyer who bowled the final delivery of the over was whacked for a six by Rovman Powell. Deepak Chahar dismissed both the openers in the 11 deliveries that he bowled in the match so far.

Earlier in the day, Suryakumar Yadav (65) and Venkatesh Iyer (35)’s stand helped India post a competitive total on the board. Ishan Kishan opening the batting scored 35 and added a 53-run stand with Shreyas Iyer (25) before SKY and Venkatesh Iyer continued the charge.
