3. Ravichandran Ashwin

Ravichandran Ashwin was picked for the IND vs SA series as an all-rounder. In two matches he played, the right-arm spinner picked just 1 wicket and scored 32 runs. Due to his inefficiency, he was also dropped from the final game. Ashwin managed to get a spot in the team due to the absence of injured Ravindra Jadeja.

Ashwin was out of the limited-overs squad for a long time since 2017. Now, he needs to prove that he is equally worthy in the limited-overs format as well. If Ashwin fails in the IND vs WI ODI series too, he might be dropped from the ODI squad in the future.

2. Shreyas Iyer

Shreyas Iyer deeply disappointed Indian fans during the IND vs SA ODI series. In spite of having a good experience in ODIs, Iyer failed to perform in all three games. In all the three ODIs against South Africa, India needed good support at middle-order. Shreyas Iyer had the chance to score good runs for the team.

1. Yuzvendra Chahal

Yuzvendra Chahal is the third player on this list. Chahal was part of all the three IND vs SA ODIs. While South African spinners like Keshav Maharaj and Tambraiz Shamsi managed to dismiss crucial batsmen, Indian spinners remained quite inefficient. For instance, Yuzvendra Chahal picked 2 wickets in 3 matches at an average of 73.50.
