IND vs WI: 3 Veteran Indian Players Who Might Be Dropped From The T20I Squad

India and West Indies face off in a three-match ODI and T20I series between February 6-20. The IND vs WI series will be the first bilateral series between both sides in a long time. Both sides share great brotherhood and camaraderie given that they regularly play in the IPL.

The IND vs WI ODI series will be played from 6 February in Ahmedabad.  The next two games of the series will be played at the same venue considering the changes made by BCCI in wake of the rising COVID-19 cases in India. The T20I games will be played between February 16-20 at the Eden Gardens Stadium in Kolkata

Bhuvneshwar Kumar

Bhuvneshwar Kumar might miss both the ODI and T20I series if he performs badly in the ongoing series against South Africa. He plays only white-ball games for India of late and injuries have played their part in keeping him out of the side for a long time. Bhuvi bowled a wicketless spell in the first ODI and similar performances in the remaining two games might see him discarded from the Windies series at home.

KL Rahul

With Shikhar Dhawan showing tremendous consistency in white-ball formats since 2019, it is almost impossible to drop him. KL Rahul under the pressure of captaincy in Tests first and now in the ODIs has looked a bit uncomfortable. His last score of note was the 123 he scored in Centurion to help India win the Test match.

Ravichandran Ashwin

Ashwin might miss the entire home series against West Indies when Ravindra Jadeja comes back into the Indian squad. Along with Yuzvendra Chahal, he might be the preferred option with the ball, given that he contributes with the bat and is an excellent fielder as well. Ashwin though is a must-have in Test matches at home, it will be interesting to see if he will be given the longer role as a specialist sp[inner in India’s white-ball side.
