Bhuvneshwar Kumar gave just four runs in the 19th over to set up India’s win in the second T20I. The Windies needed 29 runs in the last two overs with Bhuvi giving away just four runs in the penultimate over. The visitors in the end fell short by 8 runs as India attained an unassailable lead by 2-0 in the three-match series.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar picked up the crucial wicket of Nicholas Pooran in the third ball of the over and gave away three singles in the final three deliveries of his over with Rovman Powell in destructive mode. After the game, he spoke about his performance with Star Sports and said that he backed himself to bowl the yorkers.

“I was just believing in myself, Rohit told me that if I can give just 9-10 runs it will be difficult for them, so I just backed myself with the yorkers” said Bhuvi.

The experienced Indian pacer also spoke about the effect of dew in the game. It did prove to be a big factor in the game with the bowlers bringing out their towels time and again to wipe out the wet ball.

“It’s always tough to bowl yorkers with the dew. When we bowled the slower balls it wasn’t gripping and I changed my plan not to bowl slower balls, so it totally depends on the wicket. These guys are very powerful and if you bowl in their zone and it gets difficult. (The body)Feels good and don’t want to say anything on that” added Bhuvi.

This was also India’s 100th T20I win. Pakistan with 118 wins top the list followed by India, South Africa (86) and Australia (83). This was India’s 8th win in the format between November 2021 to February 2022, one of India’s best winning runs in the format. India thus completed another series win taking a lead by 2-0. The final T20I will be played on Sunday, February 20.
