West Indies skipper Kieron Pollard won the toss in the second T20I against India and asked them to bat first. The game also marks the 100th T20I for Kieron Pollard. He became the first Windies cricketer to play 100 T20Is for the country. Overall, he has played 580 T20Is in his career, the most by any player.
Ahead of the game, BCCI’s official Twitter handle shared a video of the West Indies team gifting him a special jersey to celebrate the occasion. Nicholas Pooran can be seen gifting the special jersey to Pollard in the video. Pollard is one of the best T20 cricketers for the West Indies who have churned out many in the history of the format. Dwayne Bravo is second on the list with 91 T20Is followed by Chris Gayle (79) and Denesh Ramdin (71).

The visitors need to win the game to stay alive in the series. Pollard at the toss spoke about the dew factor playing its part in the decision of them willing to bowl first. Jason Holder is the only change in the Windies playing XI.
“Looks a good track. The last game dew was the factor. We will try to bowl first and limit them to a low total. Continue to execute our skills. We can’t do much in a one day break. One change. Jason is fit. Fabian misses out” Pollard said.

India, on the other hand, went in with the same XI. Rohit Sharma spoke about sticking the basics and the correct process to get the right result. Suryakumar and Ventakesh Iyer’s batting was the biggest positive for India after they struggled in the middle-overs in the first game.
“We need to get back to our basics. It is a lightning outfield. Understand the game situation. Bat freely and see what we need to do after Powerplay. As a team, we want to improve in all departments. Whether we finish the game clinically or not, we need to keep improving. We have got the same team” said Rohit.
