IND vs WI: CAB Again Requests The BCCI To Allow Spectators For 2nd And 3rd T20I, 1st T20I To Be Played Behind Closed Doors

The first match of the three-match T20 International series between India and West Indies will be played behind closed doors at the Eden Gardens, Kolkata on Wednesday, February 16 and the Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) has requested the Board of Control for Cricket in India to allow spectators for the last two T20 International games in Kolkata.

All three matches of the ODI series between India and West Indies were played at the same venue – Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad – behind closed doors and the T20I series will also be played at the same venue, which is the Eden Gardens, Kolkata.

Rohit Sharma and co. won the first match of the ODI series convincingly by 6 wickets with the help of an amazing bowling performance by the spinners.

In the second ODI, India lost the toss and were invited to bat first. Top-order of the Indian team failed but the middle-order performed really well and India posted a good total. Defending the target all the pacers and spinners did a great job and helped India win by 44 runs.

Also, India dominated in the third and final One Day International match and with the help of an all-round performance won the match by 96 runs and the series by 3-0.

The Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) has once again requested the BCCI to reconsider and allow the spectators at the Eden Gardens, Kolkata for the 2nd and 3rd T20I game of the series between India and West Indies.

“The BCCI has allowed only upper tier and hospitality boxes for sponsors and representatives for the first match,” CAB said in a statement.

“CAB will intimate all stakeholders once it receives feedback from the board,” stated further.
