IND vs WI: Watch – Captain Rohit Sharma Takes An Incredible Leaping Catch To Dismiss Odean Smith

Indian white-ball captain Rohit Sharma grabbed a sensational catch in the first T20I of the three-match T20I series against West Indies on Wednesday to dismiss all-rounder Odean Smith.

In the last ball of the first innings of the match, which was bowled by pacer Harshal Patel, Rohit Sharma took the stunning catch and helped the pacer pick his second wicket.

In the 6th ball of the 20th over Harshal Patel delivered an off-paced delivery and Odean Smith was looking to loft it straight but he only managed to get it off the toe end of the bat.

The ball went towards the mid-off where Rohit and Suryakumar Yadav were running towards the ball to take the catch. Rohit Sharma ran sideways from extra cover and took an amazing catch over his right shoulder with arms parallel to the ground.

West Indies Post 157/7 Batting First vs India

Bhuvneshwar Kumar got the first breakthrough for India in the first over itself. He dismissed Brandon King in the 5th ball of the opening over. Deepak Chahar bowled the second over and he gave away 8 runs. West Indies batters scored 6,7,10 and 9 runs in the next 4 overs and at the end of the powerplay, West Indies were at 44/1.

Just after the powerplay leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal dismissed Kyle Mayers, who scored 31 runs off 24 runs including 7 fours, in the 5th ball of the 7th over. Indian bowlers gave away 20 runs in the next 3 overs.

Debutant Ravi Bishnoi produced a 2-wicket over in the 11th over of the West Indies innings. He dismissed Roston Chase, who only managed to score 4 runs off 10 balls and Rovman Powell who scored 2 runs off 3 balls. Also, West Indies lost Akeal Hosein in the 5th ball of the 14th over and at the end of the 15th over they were at 96/5.

The 16th and 17th overs turned out to be big ones for the West Indies as batters Nicholas Pooran and Kieron Pollard managed to add 29 runs in two overs. In the 18th over Harshal Patel gave away 10 runs but picked a huge wicket of Nicholas Pooran. In the end, West Indies were able to score 157 runs, batting first, at the loss of 7 wickets.
