IND vs WI: Ishan Kishan And Shahrukh Khan Included In India's Squad For The 1st ODI vs West Indies

Young Indian wicketkeeper-batsman Ishan Kishan and aggressive middle-order batsman Shahrukh Khan have been included in India’s One Day International squad for the three-match One Day International series again Kieron Pollard-led West Indies National Cricket Team.

The six-match limited-overs series between India National Cricket Team and West Indies National Cricket Team will begin on February 6. All the games of the three-match One Day International series will be played at the Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad, behind closed doors and all the games of the three-match T20 International series will be played at the Eden Gardens, Kolkata, behind closed doors.

Rohit Sharma will be playing his first ODI series as a full-time captain of the Indian team in the limited-overs series against the West Indies. Also, in the first ODI match of the series, the Men In Blue will complete their 1000th ODI game and become the first team in history to reach this milestone.

All-India Senior Selection Committee has added Ishan Kishan and Shahrukh Khan to India’s squad – BCCI

On Saturday, February 5, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) confirmed the inclusion of Ishan Kishan and Shahrukh Khan in the Indian ODI squad.

“The All-India Senior Selection Committee has added Ishan Kishan and Shahrukh Khan to India’s squad for the first ODI against the West Indies to be played at the Narendra Modi Stadium on Sunday,” BCCI said in an official statement.

Kishan is also set to open the innings with skipper Rohit Sharma as senior opening batsman Shikhar Dhawan and young opening batsman Ruturaj Gaikwad have been ruled out of the first ODI after contracting the Covid-19 virus. Also, middle-order batsman, Shreyas Iyer has been tested positive for Covid-19, which has resulted in Shahrukh’s inclusion in the team.

Rohit Sharma (Captain), Virat Kohli, Suryakumar Yadav, Deepak Hooda, Rishabh Pant (wicket-keeper), Deepak Chahar, Shardul Thakur, Yuzvendra Chahal, Kuldeep Yadav, Washington Sundar, Ravi Bishnoi, Mohd. Siraj, Prasidh Krishna, Avesh Khan, Ishan Kishan, Shahrukh Khan.
