Asia Cup 2018: Aftab Alam Asks For Forgiveness After Last Over Drubbing

Afghanistan’s fast bowler Aftab Alam asked for forgiveness after last over drubbing against Pakistan. Alam could not restrict ten runs in the final over against Men in Green. Thus, the pacer was left devastated after Afghanistan’s narrow loss. In fact, the disappointment was clearly palpable on Alam’s face as he could hide his emotions and burst out in tears.

There was a lot of pressure on Alam and experience was not a friend to him. Therefore, he could not keep his calm as Shoaib Malik got Pakistan over the line. Meanwhile, Alam bowled a good first ball as he was able to hit the blockhole. Alam’s yorker landed on target and Malik could not get it away.

However, Alam could not back it with another good ball and bowled a half-tracker which was hit for a massive six by Malik. The right-hander was able to get another boundary on the next ball as he took Pakistan over the line.

It was a close contest as it went down to the wire. In fact, such close encounters require experience which Malik had in abundance whereas Alam didn’t have a lot of it. However, there is no denying the fact that it was a great learning experience for Aftab Alam.

Therefore, Malik was able to keep his nerves and finished off the game in style. The veteran right-hander showed great sportsmanship as he hugged Aftab Alam after the conclusion of the match to show great spirit. Meanwhile, Shoaib Maik was fortunate as he was dropped by Mohammad Shahzad when he was on just 11 runs.

Afghanistan will now square off with Bangladesh tomorrow and they would like to make a solid comeback.

Aftab Alam took to his Instagram handle to ask for forgiveness from all Afghanistan fans. He also said that he loves his nation.
