Danish Kaneria, a former Pakistani spinner, thinks KL Rahul should not be hurried into the India XI for the upcoming Asia Cup.
After overcoming his injury and COVID-19, Rahul has been welcomed back up to the Indian team for the forthcoming multi-nation tournament. As Rohit Sharma’s replacement for the Asia Cup, he almost certainly will make the starting XI.

Rahul recently disclosed that he was on the verge of getting back to 100% fitness for the West Indies tour but was delayed due to a COVID-19 positive test.
“Hello, guys. I wanted to make a few things regarding my fitness and health clear. I had started training to return to national service for the team’s tour of the West Indies after my surgery in June, which was successful. Unfortunately, I tested positive for COVID19 just as I was getting back to full fitness.”

“This always delays things by a few weeks, but I strive to recuperate as rapidly as possible so that I might be chosen as soon as feasible. The biggest honor is to represent the national team, and I can not wait to return to the field wearing blue. I will see you soon, KLR,” Rahul remarked.
‘Rahul hasn’t played international cricket for a while’: Danish Kaneria
After IPL 2022, Rahul did not play any international cricket, and Danish Kaneria thinks the Indian team management ought to give him some time to adapt to the group.
“Although Rahul has not played for an international team in a while, he was chosen over Shreyas Iyer, Shubman Gill, and Sanju Samson, who were all regularly playing.”

“When a player returns from injury, you should not immediately put him in the starting lineup. Given his importance to India in the T20 World Cup, he should have been given some time to adjust to the team,” Danish Kaneria stated on his YouTube channel.
India’s campaign in this year’s tournament will kick off with a heavyweight clash against arch-rivals Pakistan on August 28.
