Asia Cup 2022: Rajkumar Sharma Identifies How Team India's Bowling Attack Has Changed Considerably Since The Last T20 World Cup

Rajkumar Sharma, Virat Kohli’s former coach, is astonished by how different Team India’s bowling attack is from the one they used in the T20 World Cup last year.
For the Asia Cup 2022, which begins on August 27 and will be played in the UAE, the selectors have chosen a 15-person Indian team. Only Bhuvneshwar Kumar, a pacer, participated in the T20 World Cup at the same location, but Ravindra Jadeja and Ravichandran Ashwin, both spinners, were kept in the lineup.
In their Asia Cup lineup, Team India has a wide variety of spin bowling options. If the tracks are advantageous for the spinners, Ravi Bishnoi and Ashwin may also be considered, however Yuzvendra Chahal and Jadeja are probably the top choices.
Due to injury, Team India would be without Jasprit Bumrah and Harshal Patel during the Asia Cup. Additionally, the selectors decided against relying on Mohammad Shami’s expertise and instead placed their trust in up-and-coming players like Arshdeep Singh and Avesh Khan.
‘I feel India has a settled bowling unit’: Rajkumar Sharma
Rajkumar Sharma was questioned on how Team India’s bowling lineup has changed almost entirely since the last T20 World Cup during a discussion on India News Sports. Rajkumar Sharma responded:
“Undoubtedly, that is astonishing. It appears completely different now. Varun Chakravarthy and Rahul Chahar are not present either. Ravindra Jadeja, Chahal, and Ravi Bishnoi have taken their spots and are present. I believe India’s bowling unit is stable overall.”
Rajkumar Sharma believes that the current spin attack is comprehensive. The ex-first-class cricketer elaborated:
“Hooda, along with Ashwin, is the fifth spinner if you include him. If we talk about spin bowling, where we have experienced bowlers, it appears to be a good attack. We have Chahal, who I believe is the best spinner in the world and Ravindra Jadeja. Ravi Bishnoi has also excelled.”
Cricket fans from around the world will be entertained by the upcoming Asia Cup 2022. The competition starts on August 27 and ends on September 11, when the final game is played. The Asia Cup 2022 will include a total of 6 teams.
