Rohit Sharma discussed things since taking over the Indian cricket team. India captain Rohit believes that having a strong bench strength is essential because cricket is a year-round game. The squad is working to develop one with an eye toward the future.

India has been working very closely with their squads ever since they were shockingly eliminated from the T20 World Cup group stage. Injury and fatigue management have also been factors.

“We play a lot of cricket, so we have to manage injuries and workloads by rotating players,” Rohit said on the Star Sports show ‘Follow the Blues’.

“However, it provides our bench strength to go play the game, which is why we could try so many other people who are prepared to perform on that international platform,” he added

Rohit is now preparing to lead India in the upcoming T20 World Cup in Australia, but first, they must contend with the Asia Cup.

Coach and Captain always need to be on the same page: Rohit Sharma

After the T20 World Cup last year, Ravi Shastri was replaced as India’s head coach by Rahul Dravid, who served as skipper when Rohit made his ODI debut. Rohit took over for Virat Kohli as the country’s all-format captain.

Rohit discussed the discussions they have had since taking charge of the Indian cricket squad.

“We got together when he took over as the coach here, and we spent some time in a room discussing how to move the squad ahead,” Rohit recalled.

“He had much the same thoughts as I had. The coach and captain always need to be on the same page for the squad to progress in the same direction, so it made it easy for me to convey a clear message to the boys.”

“We all agree that it is important to convey the proper messages to the group and that we do not want any misunderstandings to occur.”

India’s campaign in this year’s tournament will kick off with a heavyweight clash against arch-rivals Pakistan on August 28.
