Bangladesh are placed alongside Sri Lanka and Afghanistan in Group B in the upcoming Asia Cup 2022. The schedule was announced on Twitter by Asian Cricket Council chief Jay Shah. The tournament will act as an ideal dress rehearsal for the Asian teams ahead of the T20 World Cup in Australia. Meanwhile, the Asia Cup will be played in the UAE after it was taken out of Sri Lanka due to their economic crisis.

Bangladesh reached the finals of the 2018 Asia Cup and lost out to India. India are the defending champions of the tournament. India won the previous edition of the Asia Cup in 2018. India has also won the most 7 titles out of 12 Asia Cup tournaments. Sri Lanka has won 5 titles while Pakistan accounts for 2 titles.
