When asked where the team is lacking, India captain Rohit Sharma responded that we don’t lack in anything; there is quality in the team.
Sharma-led Team India lost to Sri Lanka by 6 wickets in their Super 4 match on Tuesday.

India’s prospects of reaching the final at the currently taking place Asia Cup 2022 have been less after their second consecutive loss. They not only need to win their third and final Super Four match, but they also need to hope that other matches end favourably.

Putting aside the many combinations and permutations, Asia Cup 2022 has once again brought to light the Indian team’s incapacity to compete in multi-sport competitions despite performing exceptionally well in bilateral series. India was the favourite to win the tournament in the UAE going into the continental tournament after defeating both England and the West Indies in the T20I series.
You play different oppositions the pressure is different: Rohit Sharma
Rohit Sharma, the captain of India, said, “We do not lack anything; there is quality in the team,” in response to the question of where the team is lacking.
“We have won a lot of games, but in competitions like this, there is a point where the pressure changes when you play against different opponents, ” he continued.

He continued, “That is what we discuss in team meetings as well and then only we can get the results – yes we did not qualify for the T20 World Cup (semis), and here in Asia Cup we have lost two games and currently it is a challenge for us in ICC tournaments, but I don’t think we have to think too that much about that. Of course, the pressure is there and our job is to handle that pressure.”
Sri Lanka now tops the standings after this victory, while India is almost out and will be decided by the outcomes of the two Pakistani games.
