India vs Afghanistan:"Tell Me If These Guys Don’t Deserve The Chances"- Ex-Spinner Questions India's Team Selection For Asia Cup 2022

Indian Cricket Team suffered back-to-back losses in Asia Cup 2022 and now are on the brink of elimination from the Asia Cup 2022. The Men in Blue would be crestfallen as they got a proper hammering by the Sri Lankan Cricket Team.
It’s quite unlikely to see Men in Blue in finals as they have to pray that Afghanistan beats Pakistan and then Sri Lanka beats Pakistan. This is a very much complicated scenario for a billion people who are the defending champions of Asia Cup 2022.
Indian Cricket Team has themselves to blame as the batters and bowlers weren’t able to cash in on crucial stages. The likes of Rishabh Pant, Hardik Pandya & Deepak Hooda should have played smart cricket as a score of around 200 would have given them a psychological advantage.
Harbhajan Singh on Selection
Harbhajan Singh, the legendary off-spinner was pretty critical regarding selection. “Where is Umran malik (150km speed) Why Deepak Chahar(top quality swing bowler )wasn’t there Chahar? Tell me if these guys don’t deserve the chances ??Chahar Why Dinesh Karthik don’t get chances consistently?? Disappointing,” Harbhajan tweeted.

Hardik Pandya & Rishabh Pant are not Effective
India’s flamboyant all-rounder Hardik Pandya didn’t trouble the scorers even after getting promoted up the order. The batter had played out the likes of Theekshana & Hasaranga which was quite confusing.
The right-handed batter scored 17 runs in 13 balls where a cameo of 30-35 runs would have done wonders for Team India. The Management needs to assign the roles to players rather than randomly giving promotions which disturbs the balance of the team.
Rishabh Pant who had the responsibility of playing a powerful cameo too went early. The left-handed batter too scored 17 runs in 13 balls. There was a similarity in both the batter’s dismissal as both of them were unable to clear long boundaries which is quite questionable given their credentials and prowess.
India badly missed Dinesh Karthik’s funky shots and he has that calibre of turning the game at the back-end of the innings. It’s quite confusing to see Dinesh Karthik on the bench as he hardly got a chance to showcase his talent.
