Jasprit Bumrah’s absence from the opening T20 International in Mohali on Tuesday, September 20, was explained by India all-arounder Hardik Pandya.

Once again, the Indian bowling unit did not look the same without their strike bowler and was unable to defend a massive 208-run total.

With four balls remaining and a loss by four wickets, the Indian team conceded runs in the game’s final over. Bumrah is crucial to India, but one must give him sufficient time to recover from the injury, Pandya remarked during the news conference that followed the game.

“Without a doubt, it is much different without Jasprit. He is recovering from an injury, therefore it is crucial that he has enough time to sort of recover without putting too much strain on himself “said Hardik told the reporters.

India’s finest performer on the day was the all-rounder, who scored 71 runs off just 30 balls. Pandya claimed he was satisfied with his performance even though he failed to get any wickets in his two overs.

“I have recently had a lot of success, but for me, what is more, crucial is how I can improve even on my good days. I do not make a big deal about my efforts, whether they are successful or unsuccessful, given the type of job I have had “said he.
