India take on Australia in the second T20I in Nagpur on Friday, September 23. The hosts lost the first T20I and are eyeing to avoid a series defeat. They need to win the second T20I to keep the series alive. India have five more games to go ahead of their first T20 World Cup 2022 opener against Pakistan in Melbourne on October 23.
The Indian bowlers failed to defend 208 in the first game with questions being raised on their death bowling potential. Bhuvneshwar Kumar went for 523 off his spell while Harshal Patel went for 49. Along with their indisciplined bowling, there were three catches dropped by the Indian fielders which added to their misery.

Meanwhile, as per reports in Cricbuzz, Jasprit Bumrah is expected to make a comeback in the second T20I. He last played for India in July. He is most likely to replace Umesh Yadav in the XI. In this article, we take a look at India’s predicted playing XI for the second T20I against Australia.

Rohit Sharma (C)

Rohit will continue to open the batting. In the first T20I, he scored 11 off 9 balls and perished while trying to be ultra-aggressive. He needs a good score under his belt in the second game which is a must-win for India.
KL Rahul

Rahul scored his 18th T20I fifty in the first game. He scored 55 off 35 balls and looked good while he was at the crease. The vice-captain should look for another good score in the second T20I.
Virat Kohli

After his 71st ton, which was also his maiden T20I ton, Kohli was dismissed for a low-score in the first game. He scored two off just seven balls.
Suryakumar Yadav

SKY scored an impressive 46 off 25 balls and provided the impetus in the innings which allowed them to score over 200.
Hardik Pandya

Hardik scored his career-best 71* in the first T20I. He also bowled two overs going for 22 runs. He is also the fourth seamer in the XI.
Rishabh Pant / Dinesh Karthik (WK)

One among Pant and DK will play in the second T20I. Karthik scored six off five balls coming into bat in the final three overs. The management might just go ahead with Pant who provides them a left-handed option in the middle-order.
Axar Patel

The left-arm spinner took three for 17 off his four overs and looked the best of the bowlers in the first T20I.
Harshal Patel

Harshal Patel gave 49 runs in the first T20I. With his ability to bowl slower balls in the final overs the management might go ahead with him in the second game and drop Bhuvi.
Deepak Chahar

Chahar can replace Bhuvneshwar Kumar in the XiI Both are similar type of bowlers who can swing the ball early. Chahar can be effective with the bat as well.
Jasprit Bumrah

Bumrah is expected to be back in the playing XI having recovered from his injury. He was rested in the first game which was a precautionary measure. The pace spearhead should replace Umesh Yadav in the XI.
Yuzvendra Chahal / Ravichandran Ashwin

Chahal was expensive in the first game. There are talks of Ashwin likely to replace him in the second T20I vs Australia.
