Indian Cricket Team had a nervy Test Series triumph against Bangladesh. The Men in Blue had a dramatic collapse in the 2nd innings of the 2nd Test Match where somehow Ashwin & Shreyas bailed out the team.  The decision to drop Kuldeep Yadav was quite questionable as the spinners were getting a lot of help.

With the Border Gavaskar Trophy scheduled in February, the Men in Blue will have to be spot-on with their selection as Aussies would be well prepared. Australia hasn’t won Test Series in India since 2004 and they would be keen to end the drought of 19 years.

Kuldeep Yadav’s Coach Kapil Pandey On Kuldeep Yadav

Kapil Pandey was seen having an interaction with Sportskeeda and was asked about Kuldeep Yadav. “Kuldeep has become a lot more patient with time. Initially, I used to worry a lot about this kid when he didn’t use to get the deserved chances. He has two ODI hattricks, one hattrick for India A and also one more in the U19 World Cup.” said Kapil Pandey.

“Despite being the Man of the Match, when he was dropped in the second Test, I didn’t know how to console him because I myself was in tears. But the way he told me to stay patient and keep faith that things will work out eventually, shows how mature he has become,” he added.

Kapil Pandey on Kuldeep Yadav’s attitude

Kapil Pandey revealed the way how Kuldeep Yadav reacted to his omission. “He has understood that he needs to focus on the process and not worry about something that isn’t in his control. I am sure he will do well, and the patience that he has developed will help him make a strong comeback,” said Kapil Pandey.

“He also scored 40 runs with the bat, and I was really happy that he was able to showcase his all-round abilities. But when he was dropped for the next Test, I felt really bad because I didn’t know what else was needed from him. Perhaps he should have converted that 40 into a hundred. Kuldeep told me, “Koi baat nahi sir, agli baar isse bhi accha karunga. (No problem sir, next time I will try and perform even better).” Hopefully, he will get more chances in the near future.” he added.
