IND vs AUS: "I Hope They Don't Feel The Pinch Of His Absence" - Saba Karim Feels Australia Will Look To Exploit Rishabh Pant's Spot

Former Indian cricketer and selector Saba Karim believes Australia might take advantage of India’s inexperienced wicketkeeping options during the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, which starts on February 9.
For a while now, Rishabh Pant has probably been India’s finest Test batter. But following a terrible vehicle accident, he tore a ligament in his knee, excluding him from the Border-Gavaskar Trophy.

Rishabh Pant Has Changed The Face Of Test Cricket For India: Saba Karim
Saba Karim believes India’s choices for wicketkeeping are limited to KS Bharat and Ishan Kishan, both of whom have little international experience.
He stated to India News: “One spot that Australia would want to exploit is that of the opposition wicketkeeper. Rishabh Pant has changed the face of Test cricket for India and I hope they don’t feel the pinch of his absence.”

Saba Karim gave former Indian skipper Virat Kohli credit for instilling confidence in his side that they could defeat Australia at home. Since 2015, Australia has failed to win the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, falling short in each of their past three efforts by a score of 2-1.
Regarding this, Karim said: “Ever since we travelled to Australia for the 2014-15 series, Team India has been able to make a name for themselves. The credit for this goes to Virat Kohli because he instilled the belief in the team that be it in home conditions or away, Australia can be beaten.”
No Use Making Rank Turners Straightaway: Saba Karim
Saba Karim is also hoping that no dustbowls be built since, in his opinion, Test cricket needs lengthy matches and thrilling endings to keep spectators riveted. Added him:
“We need to take Test cricket to the top and for that, it’s important to prepare pitches where Test matches last for 3-4 days at least. No use making rank turners straightaway. We need to prepare good pitches that start to turn on Day 3 and that will surely bring excitement into the game. We have to take the difficult route and try to win if we really want to become the No.1 team.”
