Indian Cricket Team is on a roll at the moment after bashing New Zealand in the 3rd T20I match. Shubman Gill, the dashing right-handed batter has looked in sublime touch as the batter in a short span of time has not only struck centuries across all the formats but has become an integral part of the team.

In the 2017 Border-Gavaskar Trophy, KL Rahul was in sublime touch and stood tall from one end where. It would be quite interesting to see whether the vice-captain KL Rahul gets ignored for the 1st Test match where it won’t be a surprise as earlier Ajinkya Rahane has also faced the axe.

Salman Butt on Shubman Gill

Salman Butt was seen speaking on his YouTube channel and praised India’s talent pool. “There’s been a smart induction of players in the Indian team. There’s a pool of 40-50 players and most of them are getting opportunities to showcase their skills. Apart from the high-pressure games, big teams look to play their youngsters and give them exposure. This reduces the experience difference between the players. So I think they have been smart with the induction of youngsters.” said Salman Butt.

“It’s not a coincidence that they’re producing one world-class batter after another. It’s their strong system that allows players to develop as they play long innings. That tests their temperament and whether they have all the shots in the book and also a tight defense.” he added.

Great Chance for Australia

Australia unlike previous tours have got a balanced and dangerous squad. The resurgence of Usman Khawaja at the top of the order has meant that Smith & Warner can take their time and play their natural game. Khawaja has been a prolific batter for Australia in the last 12 months.

Aussies though would be worried as they have got too many left-handed batters present in the middle order in the form of Travis Head & Alex Carey as Ravichandran Ashwin can make life harder batter for the batters. Cameron Green’s role would be quite invaluable as a couple of wickets from him can change the complexion of the match.
