Indian team suffered a huge batting blow against Australia in the IND vs AUS 2nd ODI at Visakhapatnam as they were bowled out for just 117 in the 1st innings. India also registered their lowest-ever total in ODIs against Australia at home. 7 Indian players got out for single-digit scores.

In IND vs AUS 2nd ODI, Australia skipper Steve Smith won the toss and opted to bowl first. India lost wickets in the first over itself after losing Shubman Gill for a duck. Later, India kept on losing wickets cheaply and could only reach 117 in 26 overs before losing all of their wickets.

IND vs AUS: India Register Their Lowest ODI Total Against Australia At Home

India also registered an unwanted record of their lowest ODI total against Australia while playing at home after getting bowled out for 117 in Vizag. Earlier, India’s lowest ODI total against Australia was 148 in 2007 in Vadodara and 170 at Guwahati in 2009.

Pacer Mitchell Starc bowled an awesome spell for Australia in the match, hunting 5 wickets for 53 runs in his 8 overs. He also toppled India’s top and middle order, getting wickets of batters like Rohit Sharma, Shubman Gill, Suryakumar Yadav, and KL Rahul. Later, he also dismissed Mohammed Siraj.

Nathan Ellis picked 2 wickets while Sean Abbott grabbed the rest 3 wickets. For India, Virat Kohli scored the most 31 runs while Axar Patel hit an unbeaten 29. Within 10 overs, India lost half of their team to the pavilion, railing 49-5 at one stage.

India leads the three-match series 1-0 after winning the opening ODI by 5 wickets. In the match, KL Rahul scored an unbeaten 75 while Ravindra Jadeja hit 45 not out to help India chase down a 189-run target.
