Indian Cricket Team is all set to play a high-voltage Test Series against Australia starting in February. The selection panel surprisingly left out the dashing right-handed batter Sarfaraz Khan from the squad despite amassing tons of runs in domestic cricket.

The Men in Blue needs to win the Test Series by 3-1 or 3-0 to stake a claim in the World Test Championship (WTC 2021-23 ) final. India will have to bring their ‘A’ game as the Aussies would be well prepared as compared to the 2017 Test Series.

Sarfaraz Khan On Suryakumar Yadav

Sarfaraz Khan was having an interaction with journalist Vimal Kumar and was asked about Suryakumar Yadav.

“Obviously, it is (on his selection being inspirational). Suryakumar is a good friend of mine. And we spend a lot of time together when we are in the team together.

“I get to learn a lot of things from him. He had to wait for a long time but the way he has been playing, he has taken on his experience together, so that makes things easy,” said Sarfaraz Khan.

Sarfaraz Khan On his Omission

Sarfaraz Khan was asked how he felt after being ignored for Australia Tests. “When the team was announced and my name wasn’t there, I was very sad. Anyone in my place in this world would’ve been sad, because I had expected to be picked, but wasn’t (chosen).

“Yesterday, I was sad the whole day, when we travelled from Guwahati to Delhi. I was thinking about what and why it happened. I was feeling very lonely. I cried too,” said Sarfaraz Khan.

It would be interesting to see whether Suryakumar Yadav gets a chance straightaway as the team already has Shreyas Iyer at no.5 position. The batter can be the ‘X’ factor for the team as he has a wide range of shots and can surprise the opponent.
