Indian Cricket Team is all set to lock horns against Australia for 3-match ODI series commencing from 17th March. After an exhilarating BGT 2023, it would be interesting to see how both teams fare. Wasim Jaffer has named India’s playing 11 against Australia. Wasim Jaffer’s selection was a bit questionable.
All eyes would be on David Warner as the left-handed batter was injured in the middle of the BGT 2023 due to an elbow injury. Warner doesn’t have a promising record in India and with the 2023 WC to be staged in India, the batter would be keen to get significant runs under his belt.

Wasim Jaffer Announces His India’s playing XI
Wasim Jaffer took to his social media handle and named his playing 11 against Australia for the 1st ODI match. Jaffer astonishingly picked three spinners in the form of Washington Sundar, Kuldeep Yadav & Ravindra Jadeja into the team and picked only 2 frontline pacers in the form of Shami & Siraj.

Stern Test for India
In the absence of Rohit Sharma (*only for 1st ODI), Hardik Pandya would be tested as leading the side in ODIs is a completely different ball game. Ishan Kishan & Shubman Gill won’t get a better opportunity to make a case for themselves at the top of the order. Virat Kohli will have to bat a bit responsibly in the absence of Rohit Sharma.
It looks unlikely that Ravindra Jadeja will play the 1st ODI as there are chances that the management may rest him after a gruelling BGT 2023 where he rattled the opposition. It won’t be a surprise if Hardik Pandya plays the role of 5th bowler. India would be wary of Starc’s threat as the left-arm pacer can create havoc with the new ball with his sheer pace.
