Young batsman Sarfaraz Khan has not been included in the 17-member squad for the first two Test matches against Australia in the Border Gavaskar Trophy (BGT) 2023. Sarfaraz admitted that his father motivated him to concentrate on performing well in domestic cricket despite not being selected for the national team.

The right-handed batter is in the form of his life and knocking on the doors of Team India with his consistent performances in the Ranji Trophy for Mumbai. Sarfaraz’s biggest strength is the ability to play long innings, and he converts most of his centuries into big scores. He had an average of 79.65 in first-class cricket, second only to Don Bradman.

The Expectations Are There – Sarfaraz Khan

The Mumbai batter said that people felt he would not be able to play with the red ball after playing in the Under-19 World Cup and the IPL.

“I vividly remember that when I came back after playing the (Under-19) World Cup and then played two years in the IPL, a few people used to say that Sarfaraz Khan is a white-ball player and will not be able to play with the red ball, and that too a last-four-over batter in white ball.”
