Veteran Australia National Cricket Team opening batsman David Warner is hopeful of a better pitch in the second Test match of the three-match Test series against the Pakistan National Cricket Team at the National Stadium, Karachi, which will begin from March 12.
The first Test match of the three-match Benaud-Qadir Trophy at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium ended in a draw. Winning the toss and opting to bat first Pakistan scored 476 before declaring the innings, Australia in their first innings scored 459/10 and in the third and last innings of the match, Pakistan scored 252/0.

Australia used as many as 8 bowlers in the first innings of the match but was able to bag only 4 wickets, including one runout. Nathan Lyon, skipper Pat Cummins and Marnus Labuschagne picked one wicket each.
The best bowler from the first Test match at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium was Pakistan’s Nauman Ali who picked a 6-wicket haul against Australia.
When Lyon was hitting that rough, it wasn’t doing anything – David Warner

Warner has said that he wants a surface where teams can actually create chances for a wicket, which was not the case with the lifeless surface at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.
“I just want a game where you can actually create 20 chances, It’s something that’s going to be exciting and entertaining for the crowd,” Warner said.
He added that the star Australian off-spinner Nathan Lyon was hitting the rough part of the pitch just to get no help as the ball was not doing any movement and it was going straight. He also said that there was not any variable bounce on the surface.
“When he (Lyon) was hitting that rough, it wasn’t doing anything, was just pretty much going straight on slow off the wicket, There wasn’t any variable bounce, which you generally do see on worn wickets.”

Meanwhile, Pakistan Cricket Board chairman Ramiz Raja had said that they have planned low-bouncy tracks for Australia’s tour keeping in mind the strength of the Pakistan National Cricket Team.
