The second Test match of the three-match series between Australia and Pakistan is scheduled to be played from 12^th March to 16^th March 2022 at National Stadium in Karachi. A lot has been said about the dead pitch in the first Test played at Rawalpindi Stadium. Australian bowlers could only manage to pick four wickets in the entire Test match.

The bowlers had no help from the surface and Pakistan were able to post big totals on the board. Only Lyon, Cummins, and Labuschagne picked a wicket each, while the likes of Mitchell Starc, Josh Hazlewood, and Green went wicketless.

The next match will be played at National Stadium in Karachi and the spinners do get help from the surface. Thus you could expect Mitchell Swepson to make his debut in the second Test. But who he will replace in the playing XI remains to be seen.

As far as batting is concerned, you don’t expect any changes to take place. All the batsmen in the top four made valuable contributions with the bat. The likes of Usman Khawaja, Warner, Labuschagne, and Steven Smith all are amongst the runs and this should keep the team in good stead.

Pakistan, on the other hand, too wouldn’t be short on confidence. They were nothing short of brilliant with the bat. In the first innings, Pakistan notched a huge score of 476 runs for the loss of only 4 wickets. Imam Ul Haq (157) and Azhar Ali (185) both came up with sensational knocks with the bat.

In their second innings, Pakistan didn’t lose a single wicket. Imam Ul- Haq brought up his second century in two consecutive innings. Abdullah Shafique played an unbeaten knock of 136 runs in 242 balls. He too wouldn’t be short on confidence heading into the second game of the series.

Pakistan’s all-rounder, Faheem Ashraf has cleared the rapid antigen test and will be available for the second Test. Besides, the likes of Hasan Ali and Haris Raif are likely to be fit to play and will be in contention for the second Test.

Given that the pitch in Karachi will assist the spinners, Nauman Ali will, once again, be the biggest bet for the team. He picked a six-wicket haul in the last match and would be keen to replicate a similar performance in Karachi as well. Sajid Khan, however, could only pick 1 wicket but he would be backed to do well in the next match. Naseem Shah, however, might make way for Hasan Ali for the second Test.
