Hobart Hurricanes won the toss and elected to bowl first in the match. Joel Paris came to bowl the 2nd over of the innings. He started off very well by bowling two dot balls, but then ended up delivering a terrible 21-run over.

On the third ball of the over, Paris bowled a good length delivery just outside off-stump and Smith shuffled across and smashed the ball for a six over the deep backward square leg.

Paris came under pressure after overstepping and then bowled a poor delivery down the leg that swung further and went for a four.

On the next ball, the free hit was still on and he pitched the ball on the fourth stump. Steve Smith once again shuffled across and smashed the ball for a four over square leg. Overall, Joel Paris gave away 16 runs in one legal delivery.

Talking further about Smith, who has been in excellent form in the Big Bash League (BBL), the star batter once again played a terrific knock in the tournament against Hobart Hurricanes.

The 33-year-old, who recently smashed back-to-back tons in the competition, scored 66 runs off 33 balls, including 4 fours and 6 sixes, against Hurricanes, before being cleaned up by Nathan Ellis.
