Chennai Super Kings Cricket Team (2026)
Chennai Super Kings are one of the ten teams participating in the Indian Premier League. Popularly known as CSK, they are owned by Chennai Super Kings Cricket Ltd. They were one of the eight teams founded in 2008 before the inaugural season of the IPL. Chennai Super Kings play their home games at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. Ruturaj Gaikwad is the current captain of the team.
With five titles, Chennai Super Kings are one of the most successful side in the history of the IPL. They won their maiden IPL title in 2010 and went on to become the first team to defend it in 2011. In 2018, they won their third title before winning the IPL again in 2021 and 2023 to become only the second team after Mumbai Indians to win the tournament five times. They have also won the now-defunct Champions League T20 twice.

Chennai Super Kings - Season-Wise Performance
Chennai Super Kings have been the most consistent team in the IPL so far. From 2008 to 2019, they qualified for the playoffs on each occasion (except in 2016 and 2017 when they were suspended). In 2008, the lost the final against Rajasthan Royals before bowing out at the semifinal stage in 2009.
In 2010, Chennai Super Kings beat Mumbai Indians in the final to lift their maiden IPL title. In 2011, they became the first team to defend the title after beating Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the final. In 2012 and 2013, they made it to the final but lost both the games.
In 2014, the Chennai-based outfit qualified for the playoffs before losing the final again in 2015. In 2016 and 2017, they could not play due to a suspension before making a grand return in 2018. The MS Dhoni-led side went on to win the title for the third time. In 2019, Chennai Super Kings qualified for the final again but lost the game against Mumbai Indians.
In 2020, the failed to qualify for the playoffs for the first time in their history. However, they bounced back in style by winning the title in 2021 before missing out on playoffs again in 2022. And in 2023, they reacted in a stunning fashion again by winning the title for a record-equaling fifth time.
