Chepauk Super Gillies Squad 2025

Chepauk Super Gillies are one of the four current teams that are playing in the TNPL since the inaugural season in 2016. With 4 titles, the Super Gillies are the most successful side in the history of the competition.

Their journey in TNPL began in a strong fashion. In the inaugural season in 2016, the Super Gillies finished as runners-up. After qualifying for the final, they suffered a loss at the hands of now-defunct Tuti Patriots.

However, they made amends for the loss in the very next season as they beat the Patriots in the final to win their first TNPL title. In 2018, they had a disappointing campaign as the defending champions as they bowed out at the league stage. The Super Gillies finished at the 8th spot in the table after managing to win just one match.

In 2019, the Super Gillies went on to become the first team to win the TNPL twice. They finished the league stage at the second spot to progress to the playoffs. In the playoffs, they beat Dindigul Dragons in the first qualifier before beating the same side in the final as well to win the tournament.

The 2020 season of the TNPL had to be cancelled due to the pandemic. In 2021, the Super Gillies went on to become the first team to win the tournament thrice. They beat Trichy Grand Cholas by 8 runs in the final to clinch their third title.

In 2022, the Super Gillies and Lyca Kovai Kings were declared the joint winners after the final was washed out. It made the Super Gillies the first-ever team to win the TNPL four times. In the following season, the Super Gillies failed to qualify for the playoffs. In 2024, they qualified for the playoffs but could not reach the final.
