The Women’s Asia Cup 2022 kicks off with hosts Bangladesh taking on Thailand in the first match at the Sylhet Outer Cricket Stadium, Sylhet on October 1. India and play Sri Lanka on the same day in the second match. The first match starts from 9 am while the second from 1.30 pm. 

Bangladesh are the defending champions of the tournament having won the last edition by beating India in the final. India led by Harmanpreet Kaur have won the title six times. India, Pakistan. Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Malaysia, Thailand and UAE are the seven teams competing this season.

All seven teams for the Women’s Asia Cup 2022 have been announced and India under Harmanpreet Kaur looks the most settled team. They recently won an ODI series against England and looks in good form. Their match against Pakistan will be played on October 7.

All the matches will be played in Sylhet’s two venues- Sylhet International Cricket Stadium and Sylhet Outer Cricket Stadium. Bangladesh are hosting women’s international for the first time since 2018. This Asia Cup tournament will be played in the 20-20 format.
