The BCCI is looking towards a new direction after naming the new selection committee. Chetan Sharma has been again named as the Chairman of the selection committee. Along with him, the BCCI has named Shiv Sundar Das, Subroto Banerjee, Salil Ankola, and Sridharan Sharath as part of the new selection panel of the Indian Senior Men’s team.
The CAC panel led by Sulakshana Naik, Ashok Malhotra, and Jatin Paranjape entrusted their faith in the former India cricketer to turn the fortunes of the team around. As per reports, the BCCI received over 600 applications for the national selectors post out of which the final five have been named.

The entire previous selection committee was fired by the BCCI after India’s poor performances in the T20 World Cup 2021, Asia Cup 2022, and T20 World Cup 2022. Sharma along with his former colleague Harvinder Singh reapplied for the post along with some other nominal names.
Venkatesh Prasad, Maninder Singh, Mukund Parmar, Nayan Mongia, and Sameer Dighe were among the other big names who applied for the post.
Meanwhile, the newly-formed BCCI selection committee will now be expected to monitor a lot of domestic cricket. Playing enough domestic cricket before the national selection was one of the most important takeaways from BCCI’s review meeting at the start of 2023. In this article, we take a look at three players who can be fast-tracked from domestic cricket on the back of their consistent performances.

3 Indian Players Who Can Be Fast-Tracked From Domestic Cricket To Team India For 2023 ODI World Cup Under The New Selection Committee
Narayan Jagadeesan
Jagadeesan recently broke the record for the highest score in List A cricket in the recently concluded Vijay Hazare Trophy. he scored 277 off 141 deliveries against Arunachal Pradesh in the ongoing Vijay Hazare trophy. In the process, he scored the highest individual score in List A cricket overtaking 268 by Alistair Brown against Glamorgan in 2002.
Jagadeesan’s 277 is also the highest score in all List A cricket, surpassing 271 not out by Sripali Weerakkody against Pushpadana Ladies in the 2007 Sri Lanka Women’s One-Day tournament. He was picked up by KKR in the IPL 2023 auction for 90 lakhs.
With Rishabh Pant and Sanju Samson injured and KL Rahul not a member of the Indian team across formats, the management can keep an eye on Jagadeeshan. He has played 30 First Class, 44 List A, and 51 T20s and has amassed nearly 5000 runs in domestic cricket.
The right-hander top-scored in the recently concluded Vijay Hazare Trophy scoring 830 runs in 8 matches averaging 138.33 and striking at 125.38.

Sarfaraz Khan
Mumbai batter Sarfaraz Khan should be the other batter from domestic cricket that the BCCI must fast-track into the side. Since 2019 in Ranji Trophy, Sarfaraz has scored 2289 runs in just 22 innings at an average of 134.64 including nine hundreds and five fifties.
He has also scored two double-hundreds and a triple-hundred in the meantime. His IPL career has suddenly stumbled with the batter not getting enough matches.
Earlier in November 2022, the batter was retained for Delhi Capitals ahead of IPL 2023. His recent run in domestic cricket might see him now getting regular games in IPL which helps him pave the path for a national call-up.
Jaydev Unadkat
Veteran pacer Jaydev Unadkat is another Indian player on this list whom the management should fast-tracked back into the Indian cricket team, especially in Test cricket. The current Indian Test side does not have a left-arm bowler and this is where Unadkat with all his experience will be a valuable addition.
He recently played the second Test against Bangladesh in Dhaka. He got a recall into the Test side after 12 years and made the most of it by bowling four wickets in the Test match.
He can be a good addition to India’s ODI squad for the ODI World Cup later this year. His domestic numbers are fantastic having picked 364 FC, 168 List A, and 210 T20 wickets in a career spanning over 12 years.
