3 Indian Players Who Can Retire From International Cricket Before 2023
3. Dinesh Karthik
Dinesh Karthik is the first Indian player who can retire from international cricket before 2023. After a magnificent performance in IPL 2022, Karthik was given a spot in the T20I team. He also played a few brilliant knocks for the team as a wicketkeeper-batsman.
However, Karthik flopped during ICC T20 World Cup 2022 when he got out for single digits in the few games he played. India also faced a huge loss in the semi-final during the tournament and failed to reach the final.
Later, Karthik was not picked for the T20I series against New Zealand last month. Due to his growing age, it seems like Karthik will not be able to make a comeback to the national team again. Hence, he might retire from international cricket before 2023.

2. Jayant Yadav
Jayant Yadav is another Indian player who can announce his retirement from international cricket before 2023. While Jayant Yadav has only played 6 Tests and 2 ODIs so far, he got a few chances this year during the Test series against Sri Lanka in March this year.
The right-arm off-spinner could not perform well during the series and hence, he was eliminated from the Test squad later. He has not played any Test since March this year and his comeback to the national team also looks impossible. Hence, Yadav might decide to retire from international cricket before 2023.

Ajinkya Rahane is another player on this list. Rahane was a permanent player in the Test team and he was also the vice-captain about 2 years ago. However, when Rohit Sharma replaced Virat Kohli as Test skipper, Rahane was replaced by KL Rahul as the vice-captain. Moreover, due to his poor batting show last year, he was dropped from the Test team too.
Now, he has not managed to make a comeback on the Test side. His international career is on a halt and it is tough for him to make a comeback in the national team once again due to the narrow competition. Hence, Rahane might look to retire from international cricket before 2023.
