Lucknow Super Giants won both their games against Kolkata Knight Riders in their debut IPL season in 2022. LSG was led by KL Rahul as the management drafted the Indian cricketer to lead the side. KKR also had a new captain in Shreyas Iyer. However, both teams had polar opposite campaigns.
Kolkata Knight Riders had a forgetful IPL 2022 campaign with multiple issues to sort out ahead of the IPL 2023 season. They need to sort out their opening combination, find a good Indian middle-order batsman and an Indian spinner to support Sunil Narine. In case they are unable to find an Indian more spin, they need to seek for an overseas spinner. In this article, we take a look at three LSG players KKR can target ahead of IPL 2023.

Quinton de Kock
De Kock ended as the third-highest run-getter in IPL 2022 with 508 runs from 15 games. The southpaw incidentally scored the highest individual score of IPL 2022 against KKR. With KKR struggling to get runs at the top, De Kock’s inclusion can certainly solve this long-standing problem for the side. They will also get a good quality wicketkeeper in him as well.

Deepak Hooda
Hooda marked his best IPL season in IPL 2022. He scored 451 runs with two fifty-plus scores and batted at number three. KKR struggled with their openers scoring runs and their middle-order failing to consistently score runs. Hooda certainly can be a good addition to KKR’s middle-order with the way he has scored those runs. The management can swap between Nitish Rana and Hooda if they manage to get him depending on the opposition they are playing against.
Evin Lewis
Lewis can be a good addition to KKR given that he bats at the top and in the middle order. One of his best knocks this season came against CSK batting in the middle-order when he scored an unbeaten 55 off 23 balls. He will be better used as an opener if he eventually joins Kolkata Knight Riders ahead of the next season. Incidentally, it was his catch that put KKR out of the season in their last league game against LSG.
