Harry Brook's counterattack came as a breath of fresh air to the England cricket team

Harry Brook's explosive knock came as a fresh wind to the hosts. He started well, but departed soon after the 27-run over. Spinner Axar Patel tricked him. Brook was gone for 39 runs from 15 balls. It was Axar's 100th wicket for the India National Cricket Team in the format. According to Cricbuzz, with the scalp of Brook, Axar Patel became the first Indian spinner to claim his 100th T20I wicket and the fourth overall for India.

India registered a competitive total of 190 in 20 overs, in exchange for seven wickets. Ishan Kishan was the most successful Indian batter in the match with 49 runs from 40 balls. Abhishek Sharma also claimed a half-century, scoring seven more runs. The attacking opener was dismissed for 43 runs off 24 balls. For England, Sam Curran bagged three wickets in the match.
The match attracted instant hype when the Indian team management named Vaibhav Sooryavanshi in the line-up, replacing the off-form opener Sanju Samson. Sooryavanshi, in his debut match for the senior national cricket team, hit a couple of 6s to score 14 off 10.
