The right-handed batsman shattered 3 centuries across just 9 innings and mustered 556 runs in 9 games at a superb average of 92.67. In the last season of the Ranji Trophy too, Khan was a standout performer. He smashed 982 runs in 6 games to finish as the highest run-getter in the season at an average of 122.75.

4. Rajat Patidar

Rajat Patidar is another batsman who could have helped India to win the maiden WTC title. Rajat Paditar is the right-handed batsman who showcased incredible form in the last two editions of the Ranji Trophy. Last season, he mustered 658 runs in 9 innings at an average of 82.25 to finish as the second-highest run-getter in the tournament.

In the 2022-23 season, Patidar finished as the leading run-getter for his team Madhya Pradesh with 565 runs in 7 games at an average of 47.08. He slammed 1 ton and 6 fifties in the season. In a first-class match against New Zealand A in September 2022, Patidar shattered an unbeaten 170 run-knock.

Mukesh Kumar is another player who could have helped India to win the maiden WTC title. He is a right-arm pacer who also made his debut in IPL 2023 for Delhi Capitals. In Ranji Trophy 2021-23 season, Mukesh Kumar hunted 20 wickets in just 5 games at an average of 24.75.

In the India A vs Bangladesh A unofficial Test last year, he hunted a 6-wicket haul to design the team’s victory in the match. He is also one of the net bowlers for India in the ICC WTC final.

Baltej Singh was the most successful pacer in Ranji Trophy 2022-23. The Punjab seamer hunted 43 wickets across 9 games to finish as the 4th highest wicket-taker in the tournament. He held an incredible average of just 14.07.
