“Ab Full Freedom To Plot Such Run-outs With Buttler” – Virender Sehwag Takes A Dig At Ravichandran Ashwin After ‘Mankading’ Moved From ‘Unfair Play’ Section

Former Indian batsman Virender Sehwag has taken a dig at the veteran off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin after ‘Mankading, which relates to running out the non-striker while on a delivery stride, was moved from ‘Unfair Play’ section to the ‘Run-out’ category.
The Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC) recently made huge changes to the laws of cricket and the changes will come into force from October 2022.

“Law 41.16 – running out the non-striker – has been moved from Law 41 (Unfair play) to Law 38 (Run out). The wording of the Law remains the same,” the MCC said in a media statement late on Tuesday.
Also, with the new rule regarding Mankading, the debates on the spirit of the game will end, which was often triggered after the bowlers tried to run out the batters at the non-striker’s end when the batters backed up too far.
Meanwhile, Jos Buttler became the first batsman to be mankaded in the Indian Premier League, as he was mankaded by premier off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin during IPL 2019. And after the dismissal, Buttler was involved in a heated debate with Ashwin that sparked an international debate on the “spirit of cricket”.
First becoming second highest wicket-taker in Tests for India, and now this – Virender Sehwag

On Wednesday, March 9, former Indian explosive batsman Sehwag took to Twitter to congratulate Ashwin for becoming India’s second-highest wicket-taker and for ‘Mankading’ becoming a legitimate dismissal. He also hilariously suggested Ashwin plot a ‘Mankading’ dismissal with his teammate Jos Buttler.
“Congratulations @ashwinravi99, great week this one. First becoming second highest wicket taker in Tests for India, and now this. Ab full freedom to plot such run-outs with Buttler. Ek karna zaroor,” Sehwag tweeted.
