Adil Rashid goes level with Stuart Broad in elite list after impressive spell against USA

Adil Rashid, on Sunday (June 23), once again proved his worth as he starred for England in their must-win clash against the USA in the ongoing ICC T20 World Cup 2024.
With England eyeing a big win, they needed to dismiss the USA cheaply and their spin spearhead rose to the occasion. The leg-spinner picked up 2 crucial wickets and conceded only 13 runs in his four overs to help his team bowl out USA for a modest total of 115 runs. He clean bowled Nitish Kumar and captain Aaron Jones in the 9th and 11th over respectively to reduce USA to 67 for 4.
And the 2-wicket haul has also helped Adil Rashid add yet another feather to his already illustrious cap. The world number one T20I spinner is now the joint-highest wicket-taker for England in the T20 World Cup history. He has gone level with his former teammate Stuart Broad. Both Broad and Rashid have 30 wickets in the T20 World Cup.
Broad picked up his 30 wickets in 26 games while Rashid took 29 games for the same. Chris Jordan, who picked up a hat-trick against USA, is third in the list with 24 wickets from 21 games. Graeme Swann and Moeen complete the top five.

Apart from him, only Chris Jordan has managed to touch the 100-wicket mark for England in T20Is. Jordan has picked up 105 wickets so far. No other England bowler has even managed to touch the 70-wicket mark so far. Stuart Broad is third on the list with 65 wickets.
Talking about the ongoing game between England and the USA, the defending champions were on 77 for no loss in the 8th over at the time of writing this report. England need to win the ongoing game to stay in contention for a place in the semifinals.
