Janat's ban is a huge shock for Afghanistan cricket, which is the rising superpower in the cricketing world. The ban on him has already taken effect and it will remain for five years. This means that he cannot be involved in any cricketing activity, let alone playing as a cricketer.

It is believed that Janat committed a breach of the ACB and ICC Anti-Corruption Codes during KPL (Kabul Premier League) 2. He has already admitted to the charges and revealed his connection to the corrupt activities.

Ihsanullah Janat record in professional cricket

Ihsanullah Janat is the brother of former Afghanistan captain Nawroz Mangal. The 26-year-old was seen as a rising talent in the region. he has played three Tests, 16 ODIs, and a solitary T20I so far in his international career.

The right-hander has a good technique and likes to score big runs. He has an exceptional average of 56 in first-class cricket. He has scored 1568 runs in just 19 first-class matches so far.

Ihsanullah was Afghanistan's captain in the 2016 Under-19 World Cup. It was the same tournament when a young Rashid Khan showed his class at a global level and started his incredible cricketing journey.

Ihsanullah's last international match

Ihsanullah is currently running out of Afghanistan's squad for all the formats. The 26-year-old last played an international match in June 2022 against Zimbabwe when he made his T20I debut against Zimbabwe.

But he was seen as a prospect for Afghanistan, especially in red-ball cricket. With a good technique, he could have been a real handful for Afghanistan under testing conditions. By the time his ban will end, he will be 31 years old.

It is also believed that three other players are also under suspicion of their involvement in fixing-related activities. The investigations for the involvement are already underway. A decision on their connection will be made after the confirmation of their guilt.
