Ahmed Shehzad of Central Punjab has penalized 35% of his match fee for a level 1 offense of dissenting from an umpire’s decisions during the Pakistan Cup’s tenth and final round match versus Sindh at the Iqbal Stadium in Faisalabad.

During batting, Ahmed showed his dissatisfaction with the bowler’s appeal, including with the umpire.

As a consequence, he was found to have breached Article 2.8 of the Player and Player Support Personnel Code of Conduct.

The batter was charged by on-field umpires Ghaffar Kazmi and Zameer Haider, who approved match-referee Nadeem Arshad’s punishment.

Controversies involving Ahmed Shehzad:

Shehzad received a one-match suspension in 2011 for dissent during the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy, followed by a disciplinary fine a month later.

Shehzad received an official censure from the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) following his repeated quarrels with Sri Lankan batter Tillakaratne Dilshan concerning Dilshan’s past and current religions.

Shehzad had a verbal and physical altercation with spinner Wahab Riaz during a Pakistan Super League group stage match against Peshawar Zalmi. Both players were fined and granted an official warning by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).

Shehzad’s poor performance led to a PCB committee seeking punishment for him and fellow player Umar Akmal after Pakistan was eliminated from the 2016 World Twenty20 after losing three matches against New Zealand, India, and Australia.

Shahid Afridi and Shehzad have an unusually close relationship. Shehzad said he was closer to Afridi than his wife in a 2016 interview, and he misses his gentle touch.

There was also word that both of them were spending far too much time alone in the dressing area, causing the entire team to be embarrassed.

The Pakistan Cricket Board issued a ban on Shehzad as a result of his poor performance, which also resulted at the end of their relationship.
