Ashes 2023: "I'll Be Guided Mainly By My Body" - Pat Cummins Hopes To Play All Five Test Matches Against England

Australia Test captain Pat Cummins said that he wants to play all five Test matches in the upcoming Ashes series against England, which is set to begin on Friday, June 16 at Edgbaston in Birmingham. Pat Cummins said that he had experience playing more than five Test matches in a short span of time.

The Australia team selected Cummins, Scott Boland, Josh Hazlewood, and Mitchell Starc as their primary bowlers. The team management is set to rotate their bowling throughout the tournament, with Cummins playing all matches. Michael Neser and Sean Abbott are available on the standby list.

I Have Done It A Few Times At Home Before – Pat Cummins

Speaking ahead of the first Test against England, Pat Cummins said that he is optimistic that his body will allow him to play without missing any matches in the series.

“That’s the plan,” said Cummins when asked whether he will be available for every match of the Ashes.

“I have done it a few times at home before, we have played five or six Test matches in five or six weeks, so it’s nothing new. I’ll be guided mainly by my body.”

I’m Feeling Really Good At The Moment – Pat Cummins

The Australian skipper said that he feels good at the moment and is focusing on maintaining his form and fitness.

“Anything harder, if I really try to run in and bowl fast, maybe my seam isn’t as good, maybe I don’t swing the ball as much,” Cummins said.

“I’m feeling really good at the moment. I’ll take it Test by Test, but there’s 25 days of cricket left and in between that I reckon I’ll be doing a lot of UberEats at (the hotel) on my bed watching golf,” he concluded.

Cummins, Boland, and Starc played as the three pacers in the recently concluded World Test Championship (WTC) against India. The Australian cricket team is expected to stick with their winning combination in the series opener against England.
