The Asia Cup 2025 is just a few days away, and India's squad for the eight-team tournament has been announced. In this article, we will look at three players who will warm the bench throughout the tournament.

3. Kuldeep Yadav
Experienced left-arm wrist spinner Kuldeep Yadav finds a place in India's squad for the Asia Cup 2025, along with a couple of more spinners in the form of Axar Patel and Varun Chakaravarthy.
It would be interesting to see if the team management decides to go in with the trio, or they choose to play a couple of them.
The captain and coach might be tempted to play all three as they bring different skill sets, but that would mean getting rid of a specialist fast bowler.
If the defending champions play with a combination of three spinners and two fast bowlers, it would shorten India's batting till number seven, and by the looks of it, the Men in Blue would prefer batting till number eight.
In such a scenario, it would be a toss-up between Kuldeep Yadav and Varun Chakarvarthy as both of them bring similar skills to the table, and in all likelihood, it will be Varun who will pip Kuldeep as the second spinner.
Moreover, Chakarvarthy has been backed a great deal by the head coach, who will also play a vital role in his getting picked in the playing XI for the Asia Cup 2025.
Having said that, Kuldeep won't be a bad choice either, as he can take the ball away from both left and right-handers, which is a rare ability to have in your arsenal.
2. Sanju Samson
Sanju Samson would feel unlucky to be left out of the playing XI, but if we go by the combination of the team that has been picked, there are high chances of that happening in the eight-team tournament.
Moreover, the appointment of Shubman Gill as the vice-captain of the team for the Asia Cup 2025 has also made things difficult for Samson, who has scored three centuries as an opener in T20I cricket for India.
There is very little chance of him playing in the middle order either, as he has batted in the top three for the best part of his career so far.
Owing to the above-mentioned reason, it is safe to say that Samson will warm the bench for the entire tournament.
1. Rinku Singh
Rinku Singh has found himself in a peculiar situation in the last year or so with his numbers in T20I cricket, which aren't that impressive.
Yes, the numbers are there for all to see, but we should not forget the number at which Rinku Singh bats.
The left-hander has batted at number six or seven in most of the matches that he has played, and gets a handful of balls to make his mark, and what matters at that stage is the strike rate of the batter.
Having said that, Rinku might have to sit for the entirety of the Asia Cup 2025 due to the team combination, as India has five proper batsmen and three all-rounders, which stretches the batting till number eight.
