Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC) is likely to permanently ban three members of the Lobby at Lord’s who were engaged in heated altercations with Australian players in David Warner and Usman Khawaja during the second Test of the Ashes 2023 as per the reports in Sydney Morning Herald.

The members were suspended following the incident and it is now learned that they will have to present themselves at the King’s Council next week. The reports suggested that the disciplinary panel will look into account a detailed report submitted by the Australian team’s security manager and eyewitnesses who submitted their testimonies via an online form.

“Identify and kick them out. There are lots of members who would never do that and lots waiting in the wings to take their spots if they won’t appreciate them. It’s literally written in the rules that you can’t do that. Don’t abuse players and in particular don’t pick out the bloke who of all the Aussie team seems the nicest one and hasn’t done anything ever to upset anyone.”

This development comes following the controversial dismissal of Jonny Bairstow at Lord’s when Alex Carey ran him out after he left the delivery. This didn’t go well with the spectators as they felt that Australia should’ve upheld the spirit of the game.

As the Australian team walked up for lunch, they were booed by the crowd and were confronted by some members. In the video that went viral on the internet, David Warner and Usman Khawaja had some heated exchange with the spectators before security guards had to intervene.
