Australia batsman Marcus Harris feels that David Warner has done well in Ashes 2023 so far and he is ready to wait for his turn to play for Australia. However, Marcus Harris also mentioned that he is ready to go if an opportunity arrives early.
Marcus Harris is part of Australia’s squad in Ashes 2023. However, the opening batter is yet to play in Ashes 2023. Since Harris is an opening batter, he can get a chance to play if David Warner is rested. After Warner’s poor batting show in AUS vs ENG 3rd Test in Headingley, some have batted for replacing him with Marcus Harris.

David Warner Has Done Well In The Series: Marcus Harris
While speaking to ESPNcricinfo, Marcus Harris said that David Warner has done well in the Ahses 2023 series so far. He also said he has no issues with waiting for his turn to play for the team.
“Davey’s [David Warner] earned the right to pull the pin whenever he wants to pull the pin and he’s done well this series. England’s not an easy place to open the batting and him and Uz [Usman Khawaja] have got us off to some good starts. So if I have to wait until then, so be it. But if something comes up earlier, I’m ready to go. Davey’s obviously a bit of a lightning rod for opinion”, Marcus Harris said.
“Even if you’re not getting the big runs that you want to get, if you can still contribute to the team in some way, shape or form, I think you’re doing a job. But that’s coming from an opening batter so I’m probably biased towards that,” Harris added.

The left-handed batter also added he is ready to play if he is picked in the ongoing series. However, he is not concerned if he doesn’t get chances in Ashes 2023 series.
“I feel like I am ready to go whenever that chance comes. Whether that is this tour or not, so be it. I am in a good place mentally and with life. Whenever it comes up, I’ll be ready to go,” Harris further said.
