Australian Cricket Team had a dominant Day 3 where they bowled out the Mighty West Indies Team for 283. The Skipper Pat Cummins didn’t enforce the follow-on in order to get the bowlers ready for the 4th innings. On a green tinge, Nathan Lyon was able to pick 2 wickets as the entire bowling unit had to toil a lot.

Once again West Indies’ batters fell like a pack of cards. Apart from the openers, Kraigg Braithwaite & Tagenarine Chanderpaul, no one smashed a half-century. West Indies’ would rue the fact that they couldn’t capitalize on a good start as the opening pair had scored 78 runs in 26 overs.

Nathan Lyon Surpasses Dale Steyn

The shrewd off-spinner Nathan Lyon now has 440 Test Wickets to his name. He now has gone past the legendary speedster Dale Steyn as he had 439 scalps to his name. Nathan Lyon now is in 9th position in all time wicket-takers list. The Cricketer has been the silent assassin as in Australia, off-spinners haven’t been that effective.

West Indies in Deep Trouble

Australia now leads with 344 runs as the team had lost one wicket of Usman Khawaja before the end of the day’s play. West Indies will require a herculean effort to win the Test Match from here as Aussies would be targeting a total of around 500. Skipper Kraigg Braithwaite would hope that the quicks create havoc as all eyes would be on the duo of Roach & Holder.

The dashing left-handed batter David Warner would be eager to make the most of this opportunity as in the 1st innings he was dismissed cheaply for 5 runs. Skipper Pat Cummins may promote Cameron Green up the order as he has the knack for scoring runs quickly. It would be interesting to see how Day 4 pans out as a result on Day 4 cannot be ruled out as the pitch has started to deteriorate as West Indies players would be tired after being on the field for more than 150 overs in 1st innings.
