Hit by a spate of injury setbacks, Team India are seriously depleted for the fourth and final Test against Australia. The Border-Gavaskar series is currently locked at 1-1 after India’s heroic effort to escape with a draw in the third Test at the Sydney Cricket Ground. And while the momentum is with the visitors for the upcoming Test, their injury woes could make things difficult for them.
Earlier this week, Ravindra Jadeja and Hanuma Vihari were ruled out of the last Test due to thumb and hamstring injury respectively. Jadeja was hit on his thumb while batting in the first innings of the third Test while Vihari sustained his injury while batting in the second innings of the same Test. Off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin is also not fully fit after tweaking his back.
With so many injuries, the team-management is struggling to find even 11 fit players to get on the ground. And perhaps this is why not a single fast-bowler took part in the training session which was held in Brisbane on Wednesday, according to the Times of India. The news outlet also stated that a team spokesperson decided against speaking anything about Bumrah’s fitness.

In case, Bumrah misses the Gabba Test, then he would be replaced by either Shardul Thakur or T Natarajan. Mohammed Siraj and Navdeep Saini are the other pacers who are set to lead the attack in Brisbane if Bumrah is sidelined.
