BAN vs SL: Kusal Mendis Cleared Of Complications After Complaining Of Chest Pain During The Test Match In Dhaka

Sri Lanka National Cricket Team batter Kusal Mendis has been cleared of any major complications after complaining of chest pain during the Test match against the Bangladesh National Cricket Team.

Sri Lankan batter Mendis had complained of chest pain on Day 1 of the second Test match of the two-match Test series against Bangladesh National Cricket Team at the Shere Bangla National Stadium in Dhaka on Monday, May 23. Notably, the scary incident took place during the 23rd over of Bangladesh’s first innings of the match.

The 27-year-old Sri Lankan batter was seen in some discomfort as he was holding his chest area while being helped off the field. Also, he was hospitalized in Dhaka for proper diagnosis and better management after the incident.

Sri Lankan Batter Kusal Mendis Cleared Of Any Major Complications Following An Electrocardiography

According to the latest reports, the Sri Lanka National Cricket Team batter has been cleared of any major complications following an Electrocardiography (ECG).

A Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) official revealed that there was “no major issue in the report” of the Sri Lankan batter Kusal Mendis. The same BCB official added that the Sri Lankan batter is currently under observation.

“He underwent an ECG and there was no major issue in the report,” said a Bangladesh Cricket Board official. 

“Hopefully he will report back to the hotel within a couple of hours as he is now under observation,” he added.

Meanwhile, Kusal Mendis had batted brilliantly in the first match of the two-match Test series against the Bangladesh National Cricket Team at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram. He scored 54 runs in the first innings and 48 runs in the second innings and the match ended in a draw.
