Sylhet is all set to host the BAN vs SL first T20I on March 4. The match starts at 5.30 pm IST. Sylhet hosts all three matches. The first two T20Is start from 5.30m pm while the third from 2.30m pm IST.

The BAN vs SL series continues with the three-match ODI series followed by a two-match Test series. The series will be played from March 4- April 3. 

Sri Lanka are led by Charith Asalaka in this series. Regular skipper Wanindu Hasaranga was banned from two T20Is by the ICC following his altercation with on-field umpires in the third T20I against Afghanistan. 

The Lankans will also be without the likes of Pathum Nissanka and Kusal Perera. While Niossanka is out with a hamstring injury. Perera is out with a respiratory infection. Niroshan Dickwella has been named as his replacement. 

Bangladesh will be led by Najumul Hossain Shanto. Regular captain Shakib Al Hasan has been ruled out of the T20I and ODI series due to an eye problem. Mohammad Naim and veteran all-rounder Mohammad Mahmudullah have returned to the T20I squad after their recent performance in the BPL 2024.

Off-spinner Aliss Islam has been ruled out of the upcoming T20I series due to a finger injury. Wicketkeeper-batsman Jaker Ali was named as his replacement.

In the pre-match presser, the Bangladesh skipper spoke about winning the ODI series against top nations at home and giving preference to Test cricket as well. Bangladesh and Sri Lanka have played 13 T20Is to date with the Lankans winning nine matches and the Tigers four. 

Sri Lanka are placed eighth and Bangladesh ninth in the latest ICC T20I rankings. Sri Lanka beat Bangladesh by two wickets in a Men’s T20 Asia Cup 2022 clash in Dubai when the two sides met last in a T20I match.
