BCCI Announces The Revised Schedule Of T20I Series Between Sri Lanka And India

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has released the revised dates of the second and third T20I between Sri Lanka and India.
India and Sri Lanka were scheduled to lock horns in the second T20I of the three-match series on Tuesday, July 27, but the same had to be postponed after spin-bowling all-rounder Krunal Pandya tested positive for Covid-19.
The second T20I will now take place on Wednesday, July 28, while the final T20I will be staged a day later, the BCCI said in an official press release.
“The second T20I between Sri Lanka and India originally scheduled to be played on July 27 has been pushed forward by a day and will now take place on Wednesday, July 28,” said the BCCI.
The press release also informed that Krunal Pandya tested positive for the virus following the RT-PCR tests that were conducted ahead of the second T20I on Tuesday morning.
The release also stated that the medical team identified as many as eight close contacts to Krunal Pandya following which the entire squad went into isolation.
The entire contingent will undergo another round of RT-PCR tests on Tuesday to ascertain any further outbreak.
“Following the Rapid Antigen Tests conducted ahead of the match on Tuesday morning, Team India all-rounder Krunal Pandya was found to be positive. The Medical Teams have identified eight members as close contacts,” said the press release.
The first T20I between Sri Lanka and India took place on Sunday where the Shikhar Dhawan-led unit beat the hosts by a comprehensive margin of 38 runs to take a 1-0 lead in the three-match series.
